Overnight at the Novotel Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel in Thailand

Welcome to the Novotel Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel in Thailand! After 36 hours of travel from Nashville, TN to Bangkok, Thailand and a very late night arrival, we chose to spend the night at the extremely popular Bangkok “Airport Hotel”.

While it at first seemed a little strange that there was a hotel inside the airport, we were pleasantly surprised at just how beautiful and affordable this hotel was.

Whether you have a light night arrival, long layover, or just need a quality yet affordable home base in Bangkok near the airport, you don’t want to sleep on the Novotel Bangkok Airport Hotel.

Where is Novotel Bangkok Airport Hotel?

The main draw of the Novotel Suvarnabhumi Hotel is its convenient location. The hotel is literally connected to the Suvarnabhumi Airport terminal via a short walk down the lower level halls. You don’t need to leave the airport or go outside to access the hotel!

If you are wondering how to get there from the terminals, it is actually extremely easy. You will take the escalators down to the B1 level and follow the signs for the Airport Hotel. It is about a five minute air conditioned walk. Along the walk there is a 7-11 convenience store you can stop at if you need drinks or snacks.

Alternatively, the hotel does offer a 24hour complimentary shuttle. However, it was so quick and easy walking through the airport, that I don’t think this is necessary. If you do want to catch the shuttle, you will head to arrival Level 2F, Gate 4. Here you will approach the representative on duty and be served on a first come, first served basis. Advance reservations are not necessary.

Suvarnabhumi is pronounced like “soo·waan·aa·poom”.

Novotel Bangkok Suvarnabhumi: Lobby & Check In

The Novotel Suvarnahhumi lobby is absolutely gorgeous, and nothing about it would make you think you are actually at an airport hotel. It is styled like an atrium, with trees, flowers, and ponds everywhere. The front desk is located at the center of the atrium and the hotel’s restaurants surround the edges of the atrium. The rooms are built up on the second floor and above, accessible by an elevator.

The best part of this hotel is that there is no specific check in and check out times. The room will be ready by 12PM and you may check in whenever you arrive. You will have a full 24 hours before you need to check out. This makes this hotel an ideal choice for late night arrivals.

Novotel Bangkok Superior King Room Tour

Bedroom: The Superior King Suite features a large king size bed with two lamps and night tables. The bed was very comfortable and we slept very soundly. A little bizarrely, there is a huge window into the bathroom right above the bathtub. There is a shade you can draw, but we thought it was a little odd.

Lounge: Besides the bed, the room also has a television, chair, and side table as well as a desk and chair set up to work at. There is a small coffee maker with a selection of complimentary teas and coffees, as well as glass bottles of water. There is a closet in the entry hallway with two robes, slippers, and a safe.

Restroom: The restroom features double sinks, a standalone shower, and a bath tub. The most interesting feature is a large window from the bathroom to the bedroom area directly above the bathtub. There is a shade you can draw, but we found this quite funny.

Toiletries: Ample toiletries are provided, including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, body lotions, soap, an amenity kit, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shower cap, and a sewing kit. This was a very nice spread of complimentary toiletries.

Drinking water in provided in reusable glass bottles and is complimentary. We were provided two bottles in the bathroom and two in the main suite, which was plenty for our short stay. Remember, don’t drink or brush your teeth with the water in Thailand!

Novotel Bangkok Suvarnabhumi: Amenities

The Novotel Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel and its amenities are simply gorgeous. The pool area looked straight out of a high-end resort and I am so sad we weren’t staying a full day so I could spend my time relaxing by this pool!

Novotel Bangkok Hotel Amenities

  • Swimming Pool
  • Splash Pool Bar
  • Vous Spa
  • Business Center
  • Fitness Center
  • Five restaurants
  • Complimentary breakfast
  • 24-hr check in

Unfortunately we had an extremely short stay at the hotel due to our flight schedules, so we were not able to take advantage of the amenities. However I imagine if our stay were longer we would have. The pool would be the perfect place to relax while waiting for your flight.

Novotel Bangkok Suvarnabhumi: Dining

The Novotel Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel offers a total of six restaurants on site, making it extremely convenient to grab a meal during your stay.

Novotel Bangkok Hotel Restaurants & Bars

  • The Square (International Buffet)
  • Touchdown Sports Bar (International)
  • Golden Village (Chinese)
  • Kinsen Restaurant (Japanese)
  • Sala Thai (Thai)
  • Le Gourmet (Coffee & Deli)

There are also two bars and lounges at the hotel, Atrium Lounge in the Lobby and Splash Pool Bar at the outdoor pool. In addition, room service is also available.

We ate breakfast at The Square, which is the International Buffet restaurant. The Square is serves buffet-style breakfast, lunch, and dinner. A la carte is also available 24-hours a day.

Our breakfast was included in the rate of the room. There was a variety of foods to choose from, catering to multiple international cuisines. We are waffles, french toast, eggs, bacon, sausage, and more. It was delicious and before before heading back to the airport for our next flight.

Novotel Bangkok Airport Hotel Cost

I’m sure you are wondering what our night at this hotel cost!

Rates begin right around $120/night USD without breakfast, or $150/night USD with breakfast. During our stay in April, which happened to fall during a major Thai holiday, we paid $166/night. This included taxes, fees, and our breakfast.

While this isn’t by any means cheap for Bangkok, we felt that this was very luxurious for the rate and full of value. And nothing can put a price on the convenience of walking straight from the airport terminal to our bed for the night.

We highly recommend the Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel for your next transit through the Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport. We would definitely stay there again just to explore Bangkok.
